Referrering Veterinarians

Dr. Drew Henshaw joined us in November of 2007. He came to us from Great Lakes Veterinary Surgical Center in Grand Rapids where he has experience practicing surgery exclusively and on a referral-only basis since April of 2000. At Great Lakes, he accepted surgical referrals from general practices across Michigan and from surrounding states. He has extensive experience in veterinary orthopedics, including surgical and medical management, as well as experience in most complex soft tissue surgical procedures. In addition to his vast practical experience, he has comprehensive post-graduate training in cruciate ligament repair, fracture repair using plate/screw and external fixation, arthritis, pain management, and anesthesia.

Dr. Henshaw is accepting surgery cases on a referral-only basis for orthopedics, including most fractures, cruciate and patella repairs, FHOs, joint exploratories for OCD, Achilles repairs, amputations, etc. We are also equipped to handle most soft tissue cases, including abdominal exploratories for tumor removal or biopsy of any abdominal organ, gastro-intestinal foreign bodies, gastropexies for GVD (Bloat), thyroidectomies, urethrostomies (perineal, scrotal, pre-scrotal), skin flaps, and most hernia repairs, including diaphragmatic, inguinal, umbilical and perineal. Dr. Henshaw will gladly make himself available for phone consultations with referring veterinarians for possible surgical referral cases, as well as for review of radiographs.
